Rural Pharmacy Practice

Pharmacists contribute to the health and well-being of Australians across the country’s cities, towns and regions, but nowhere is the role of a pharmacist more highly valued than in the regions and towns outside of Australia’s capital cities.

Living and working in a regional, rural or remote location can be one of the most rewarding experiences for a pharmacist. There are opportunities in primary health care delivery, disease state management and inter-professional interaction that are not available in metropolitan locations.

More importantly community and hospital pharmacists in rural Australia play a crucial role as part of the health care team meeting the special needs of rural Australians.
