ARHEN is the national association for the 19 University Departments of Rural Health across rural and remote Australia.

Our purpose is to promote the health and wellbeing of people in rural and remote Australia by delivering high-quality health education, research and advocacy.

Our member organisations, the University Departments of Rural Health (UDRH), are academic centres based in rural and remote Australia.

Each year, the UDRHs support more than 15,000 nursing, midwifery and allied health students to experience the opportunities and rewards of studying, living and working as a health professional in rural and remote regions.

Background The potential that clinical pathways support reduced time-to-intervention is of heightened importance in emergency department (ED) presentations with life-threatening conditions, such as acute coronary syndrome (ACS). There is limited contemporary evidence regarding ACS Pathway use in a hybrid documentation system or across rural facilities with varying ED capacities. Communities worldwide are experiencing the grim reality of increasing numbers of pandemics, wildfires, heatwaves, droughts, storms and floods, often with multiple events occurring simultaneously. Abstract Summary
Abstract Health initiatives to improve inclusion of vulnerable people have tended to focus on a specific group with little evidence of improvement in health outcomes or attention to intersectionality. This study proposes that exclusion within health services can first be addressed through identification of common practices underpinning exclusion. A total of 119 seemingly hardly reached residents participated through individual interviews, small group interviews and focus group discussions.
