ARHEN David Lyle Prizes for Rural and Remote Health.

The ARHEN Board welcomes nominations for the 2024 ARHEN David Lyle Prizes for Rural and Remote Health.

Professor Lyle was Director of the Broken Hill University Department of Rural Health, the University of Sydney, from 1997 to 2022 and one of the founding members of ARHEN in 2001. Professor Lyle was a strong advocate for the work of the University Departments of Rural Health (UDRH) and led many collaborative initiatives over the years to build and share knowledge across ARHEN and support rural and remote health colleagues around Australia.

Professor Lyle also served on the ARHEN Executive as Chair and Treasurer on multiple occasions.

The ARHEN David Lyle Prizes for Rural and Remote Health are awarded to UDRH employees who make a positive contribution to ARHEN and demonstrate behaviours consistent with ARHEN values and priorities. Further information on ARHEN priorities is available here: https://arhen.org.au/about/priorites/

There are two categories of prizes on offer:

  • The David Lyle Prize for Rural and Remote Health (professional staff) – $2,500
  • The David Lyle Prize for Rural and Remote Health (academic staff) – $2,500
